߲ has come to Montmorency, in Melbourne’s northeast, to help all local children develop confidence in the basics of maths and reading.

߲ Montmorency Education Centre is led by Anjul Mehrotra, a ߲ parent who saw the benefits of the programme for his own son’s education and development. Anjul comes from a professional background in management, delivering major infrastructure projects across Asia and Australia. During this time, Anjul noticed he was energized when delivering training and development sessions for his team.

This experience, along with his son’s study of ߲, motivated Anjul to open a new ߲ centre in Montmorency.

“I have personally witnessed the profound impact of ߲’s self-learning approach in my son’s learning and overall personality development,” Anjul says.

“From my own personal experiences in life, I believe that things can be effectively learnt if we inculcate the right habits and attitude. I therefore see ߲ as not just about building numeracy or reading skills but rather nurturing a life skill.”

߲ Montmorency is located at Grand Boulevard Mall, 3/39 Grand Boulevard, Montmorency, VIC 3094. Classes operate on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30pm to 6:30pm.

Anjul looks forward to welcoming many students to his centre and contributing towards the learning and development of children in the community of Montmorency and neighbouring suburbs.

“߲ develops some really important life skills including self-reflection and independent thinking”, Anjul explains. “The ability to pause, think and self-correct, imparted through ߲, can prepare students towards dealing with various situations that the life will throw.”

“By becoming a part of ߲, I am excited to have found the opportunity towards making a meaningful difference to the community and contributing towards shaping its future.”

Parents play an integral role in their children’s education, consistently demonstrating a clear link between positive parent engagement and higher academic results. Children also develop attributes such as confidence and motivation as a result.

߲ recognises this link. Therefore, parents play a vital role in supporting children in their worksheet study. This includes monitoring their home study, encouraging children to complete their worksheets to the best of their ability, and assisting with the marking of homework and corrections.

“I think helping children with their worksheets at home is really important because it encourages and motivates them”, explains Daniella, a ߲ parent. “If they don’t know the work, that’s going to be a detriment to their work later on. Always encouraging them, and facilitating the strategies in their learning is really important”.

While extra support from parents is often necessary in the early stages of enrolment into ߲, children develop routine and independence. This is Daniella’s experience.

“My children are 10 and 8 years old, and they’ve actually become independent learners through this programme”, she says. “So, at this point in time, they independently get their worksheets out and start doing their worksheets”.

With the support of parents like Daniella, the partnership between, student, parent and ߲ Instructor works for the benefit of children, and ߲ students can comfortably study beyond school grade level.

Thank you, ߲ parents, for all the support you provide your children in their worksheet study.

Tharanga Mudalige, Instructor of ߲ Colebee Education Centre

߲ is now available in Colebee, in Sydney’s outer west, to help all local children develop confidence in the basics of maths and reading.

߲ Colebee Education Centre is led by Tharanga Mudalige, who has extensive experience in early childhood education. Her prior experience gave Tharanga an understanding of the importance of mastering the basics, motivating her to own and operate her own ߲ centre.

“As an early childhood teacher, I believe strong learning foundations start early,” Tharanga says. “I’ve seen how confidence in reading and maths can transform a child’s attitude to learning. The ߲ Method aligns with my belief that every child can succeed, and opening a centre allows me to support children in my community.”

Tharanga also says that ߲ Colebee provides local students with the opportunity to build strong skills in maths and reading.

“߲ provides children with the opportunity to strengthen their maths and reading skills while building confidence and independence,” she explains. “Many children benefit from additional support outside school, and ߲ helps fill that gap by providing structured, individualised learning.”

“For families in the community, ߲ offers a supportive learning environment where children can develop strong foundations that will help them succeed at school and beyond.”

߲ Colebee is located at Stonecutters Ridge Neighbourhood Centre, Cnr Ashlar and Stonecutters Drive, Colebee, NSW 2761. Classes operate on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 4:30pm to 7:30pm, and on Wednesday afternoons from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Tharanga looks forward to welcoming many new students into ߲ Colebee.

“I want my students to develop confidence in their abilities and enjoy learning,” Tharanga says. “When children realise they can overcome challenges through practice and effort, it builds resilience that stays with them for life.”

߲ Castle Hill Terminus Street Education Centre, located in Sydney’s northwest, is now operating under the guidance of a new Instructor, Neha Vashishta.

Neha has a background in technology and was looking for a career that allowed her to be more connected with her local community. Neha is a long-term Hills resident and mum. When she saw that the previous Instructor of ߲ Castle Terminus Street was seeking to move on, Neha thought that ߲ was the perfect opportunity to align with her career goals.

“I’ve always enjoyed teaching and deeply value strong academic foundations; skills that empower children to thrive in a world where the ability to think independently will be their greatest asset,” Neha says.

Neha believes that ߲ will greatly support local families in helping their children achieve both academic aspirations and life goals.

“߲ helps children learn independently, gain confidence, and do better at school, all while making managing homework easier for busy families,” Neha says. “

With so many dual-working families in our community, it is genuinely hard for parents to do it on our own. This is where ߲ can really help.”

߲ Castle Terminus Street is located at Ground Floor Shop, 4/261 Old Northern Road, Castle Hill, NSW 2154. Classes operate on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:15pm to 6:30pm, and on Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12pm.

“I became a ߲ Instructor because I believe confidence in learning can shape a child’s long-term success”, Sona says. “I wanted to create a centre where students build strong foundations, independence, and resilience.”

Following a short hiatus, ߲ has returned to Blackwood, in Adelaide’s south-east, to help local children develop confidence in the basics of maths and reading.

߲ Blackwood Education Centre is led by its previous Instructor, Simran Bath, who has nearly a decade of experience in developing students through the ߲ programmes. Prior to this, Simran saw the growth of her own son and nephews through ߲. This inspired Simran to own and operate a ߲ centre.

“Being a ߲ parent showed me the great value ߲ can add to the life of a child who is lucky enough to get this opportunity,” Simran explains. “The detail that goes into the planning and daily execution at a ߲ centre is nothing short of remarkable.”

“The positive change in the self-confidence of a young child is what motivated me to become a ߲ Instructor.”

Simran first became an Instructor in 2017, opening in Blackwood. Following a venue relocation, Simran established a ߲ centre in Warradale, SA. However, she felt that the Blackwood area could greatly benefit from a ߲ centre.

“I have always felt that [Blackwood] hasn’t really tasted the true beauty of the ߲ programme,” Simran explains.

“I want to make more people aware of the benefits of learning through a method that encourages independence and self-reliance … and to help create a community of young confident minds that try to think for themselves and also think outside the box.”

߲ Blackwood is located at its original venue, Blackwood Church of Christ, 367 Shepherd’s Hill Road, Blackwood, SA 5051. Classes operate on Monday, Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 3pm to 6:30pm.

Simran says that ߲ is a flexible study programme that can fit around any family’s schedule.

“We encourage short bursts of daily study. Consistency is the key. And now with the availability of tablet-based study via KUMON CONNECT, students can learn anywhere, anytime at their own convenience”, Simran explains.

“I always suggest studying in the morning before school when the brain is well rested and fresh. It also sets the tone for a successful day as children have already actively engaged with their mind before turning up in the school classroom.”

Sarah comes from a background in genetic science and so understands the benefits of building a strong academic foundation from an early age. Through instructing ߲’s maths and English programmes, Sarah hopes to develop local children into confident learners.

“߲ supports the local community by providing structured learning that complements school education,” Sarah explains. “It offers a safe and encouraging environment where children strengthen maths and English skills at their own pace.”

“This builds confidence, improves school performance, and supports long-term academic success and wellbeing.”

߲’s benefits also go beyond school, as Sarah explains, providing students with a strong foundation for future learning.

“The ߲ Method values independent learning through carefully structured worksheets that build skills step by step,” Sarah says. “[This helps] students develop independence, perseverance, and confidence.”

“The learning fosters life skills, persistence, consistency, and resilience, that can be applied in all areas, preparing students for academic challenges, future careers, and personal growth throughout their lives.”
